Hi, I’m yasmina paoli.
A former journalist turned Integrative & Functional Nutritionist.
My expatriate journey continues to feed my fascination with the ingredient, the recipe & the story behind it all, every single day.
I dived into the science of healthier alternatives to cooking & baking, when I became a mom. One thing led to another & I quickly became infatuated with the science & biochemicals of our metabolism.
The academic knowledge aquired from world reknowned institutions quenched my thirst for getting to the root cause of ailments, but did not answer all my questions related to one’s lifestyle behavours.
I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories – Ayurveda, gluten-free, Paleo, raw, vegan, macrobiotics, and everything in between.
Simply because I came to the conclusion that there is not one correct way.
I NEEDED TO GRASP the more subtle implications of the brain, the mind and the soul on the way we perceive (and deal with) food and nutrition.
Therefor,
Bio-individuality
became the number 1 value of our practice
aiming at efficient long-lasting results, far from the quick-fix culture.
Since I strongly believe in educating about the whole concept of better choices, I developped an “Introduction to Nutrition” module destined to children 6 to 12, that I taught in several international schools and got overwhelming feedback from.
Furthermore, and in the same spirit of providing better and healthier choices to the young generations, I worked as a consultant for several establishments (daycares, schools, colleges), reviewing their nutrition policies and the food they offered their students and staff.
I studied with the world's top health and wellness experts including:
Joshua Rosenthal, founder of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition
Walter Willett, MD, DrPH, chair of nutrition at Harvard University
Andrew Weil, MD, director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine
Gabrielle Bernstein, bestselling author and life coach
Susan Blum, MD, MPH, assistant clinical professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine
Mark Hyman, MD, founder of The UltraWellness Center
Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating
David Wolfe, raw food leader and nutrition expert
Marion Nestle, PhD, MPH, professor at New York University’s Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health
Mark Bittman, food writer for The New York Times and bestselling author
Joel Fuhrman, MD, family physician and leading expert on nutritional healing
